The first summer month is upon us and the garden is now in full flow. Beds and boarders are filling up and hopefully you are starting to reap some of the rewards of all that hard work. Now is the time to enjoy those first tastes of ripening fruit and freshly picked salad leaves. This is always my favourite time of year, when I know I can go out to my garden and harvest my lunch, there really is no better feeling.

Now is the time to think of succession, so get sowing and planning ahead with some of these must haves in the veg garden;

If you sown some tender plants in the greenhouse, now is a good time to start planting them out;

So much to chose from this month, but my favourite would have to be strawberries and lettuce. The first ripe strawberry that’s sweetened by the warmth of the sun cannot be beaten and freshly harvested lettuce leaves for lunch and dinner is a real treat, will you be harvesting any of these this month?;
