November Jobs
November brings with it a chill in the air and potentially that first frost of the season, so this month make sure you are protecting your winter crops with fleece and mulch well.
November sow
November is really the last month to sow anything outdoors, so get these in whilst the soil retains some warmth;
garlic
shallots
November grow
All my focus is to continue protecting my winter greens outdoors and sowing some wonderful nutrient rich MicroGreens indoors. This year I’m going to be trialling the MicroGreens in various ways using some of our coir products on the website, I’ll be sowing in;
bamboo tray with coir grow matt
bamboo saucer with coir round
coir tray and coir brick
November harvest
My biggest harvest this month by far is going to be leaves, I’m a huge advocate of making leaf mould and I recommend every gardener to do the same. It’s incredibly beneficial for your garden both as a mulch and we also add it to our homemade potting mixes. To find out more about the benefits of harvesting your leaves you can read our blog.
Other harvests this month include;
apples
swede
broccoli
leeks
winter cabbage
cauliflower
beetroot
brussels sprouts
